Hello, hello. And how are we all this fine Wednesday. Its definately turning to Autumn now, just perfect for days in scrapping and stamping. As always, this is part of the mass blog hop over at Julia's so whizz over when you are done here.
Thanks to all who commented last week. I did get to all of you, (although some might have been last night) and a few others. I always start off with such good intentions and then life just gets in the way. For those who I have already commented upon today and not left a number, I apologise, but I haven't got the hang of getting a desk ready on Tuesday, ready for the morning. Plus I'm working full time so don't get time to log on in the morning to link up.
Right, excuses are done, and they are all I need to offer. Desk is looking quite tidy today, and there is a nice big pile of pages in the middle, which is the product of the weekend. A couple of them will get featured later this week in the normal blog posts. The blue one in the second layer is one of my mum and me on our wedding days, and is only missing a title. Suggestions are welcome. I haven't taken a pic of the wall art featured last week, its now going to get its own post. I need to get some ribbon to finish it off, but I've been forbidden to go shopping for a little while. So it must sit on the top of the Expedit until I can scrounge some, or get through the shopping ban. I also managed to get the Robo out this weekend, and made some brackety squares, though I did have to take the settings off of auto for the first time to get them cut right.
The pic of Mr Powers to the left of the left screen is my new Mojo board. The plan is for me to write up all my ideas when I am overflowing with them, to pick at when the mojo goes on holiday. Also, a couple of ppl mentioned my "drink of choice" (as Monkey would say) Yes it is coke, but there isn't ever Rum in it. I do tend to run on the stuff (coke, not Rum) What you didn't see last week was the small helping of Dairy Milk. Mainly because it had already been eaten! For those that are interested, I was watching Gavin and Stacey whilst scrapping last weekend. This week I have moved on to Ally McBeal. I have 5 series waiting, 4 still in the celephane!

Well Hello There! This blog seems to be a bit of a WOYWW only zone at the moment but I will try to mix it up a bit, maybe with some non-crafty bits. Had a bit of a change and update, hope you all like it. For those that are interested in the the WOYWW game, then head on over here to Julia's place when you are done here.
So, what do we have? Well I didn't get as much crafty stuff done as I thought last week, though I got a few new bits started and a few ideas in place. The pile of trays in the bottom left hand corner is for an attempt at the wonderful Wall Art, shown at Scrappy Sticky Inky Mess. The piece of paper on the keyboard is my sketch for the storage that was shown off last week, and I intend to make a page from it in due course.
The stamps in the very bottom right corner are some Maya Road journalling stamps, and some clock stamps that I picked up at Ally Pally in April. They are sitting on top of a chipboard cover, which sits on top of all my uni photographs. There are not many as I was only there for 6 months, and I'm trying to see how easy it is to scrap about things or times that are difficult, as opposed to all the fun things that normally get scrapped.
All the other bits are preparations for the Winter Holiday. There are some stamped Santa's in the middle with an attempt on distressing, though it was done with some cheapy ink pads that came from Hobbycraft. I like the technique, but I think I might need some of the proper bits to do it. The white envelope is actually a net that I am making, and one that finally worked. The proper net is ready as a jpg, just waiting for me to find some nice patterend A4 paper and the time and money to go to the copy shop and then get cutting.
Thanks to all who made lovely comments. I didn't get around everyone again, and think I might have to manage with the reciprical hopping just for the moment. Also thanks to those who commented on the dolls house. It is (like most things) a work in progress, a present that was brought when I first moved in with OH, and has moved 4 times with us despite his best attempts to have it sent to the dump. Aside from some help with screwing the roof on, it was built by my fair hands only. I would like it finished soon so that I can start to furnish it as a Victorian cake shop/restaurant.
Bit of a waffley post today, I think I might need a more descriptive badge. Hoping that you all have a happy Wednesday, and I'll see where we get to this week.

Hello again WOYWW'ers! Sorry for the long absence, I've just been inundated with work nonsense so haven't been able to play. But I'm off work this week, having a well deserved holiday (well I think it's well deserved!) If you want to see what this is all about, then hop over to Julia's place where it all started, and have a look at the lovely desks on show.
I know its a bit of a mess, which is explained below, but there are some cards on the front, all made up last night using a Craftwork Cards kit that I got a Stamperama in Stevenage in Feb, and haven't been able to work out until now. The picture frame by the right-hand monitor is from Ikea, just right for making myself a desk calendar for work for next year. And yes, for those that make the picture bigger, there are some screws on my desk, again to be explained below.
However, this is a picture of all the bits behind it which still don't have a home, and the offending unit which blocks pictures of the new toy. No matter how many times I try to organise, there are still bits and pieces that can't be classified and don't have a proper home. So they must live on the floor until I can think of a place, or use them.
Enjoy your Wednesday, I'm going to have a proper wallow around everyone's desk whilst spending a whole day of crafty goodness! Hooray for holidays!!!

Good morning WOYWW's. How goes it today? Very glad to be able to join this week, after my aquazorbing exploits at the weekend (Layouts to follow) I've gone for a left desk shot this week to add a bit of variety (and because the only thing on the normal space was a half eaten cookie)
So what's about. Well at the back you can see my trusty clip it up, where I store most of my embellishments, peel-offs, alphabets and a few other odds and sods. And the green box in front where the scissors are peeking from is the work of most of Sunday afternoon and a bit of Monday. The tubes are 4 of the toilet rolls that were on the desk last week, covered with paper picked from a digi kit.
The box to hold them in, and the 4 boxes currently sitting on the shelf above the desk (second pic) are all made from a quick sketch and a net I made from 1 sheet of 12x12 white cardstock, covered in the same paper, though it only covers the front and not the sides. I was intending to make a carrier for them myself from an innocent and unsuspecting cardboard box, but then I remembered the CD racks that the previous owners had left us (so kind) and measured them up just in case. Thanks to some flukey measuring, 2 of my boxes fit in one section of the cd rack. So I can have that put up under the shelf that carries the blank cards/craft robo/xyron, so long as its going to be secure and wont fall off and smash my monitors.
So I have some custom made storage, and the best part is it's FREE!!! Even OH was happy with that (though not chuffed that the shelf fixing hasn't yet stopped) There are still 2 free sections of the rack, which I am hoping will hold my jars of eyelets and brads as they are currently by the windowsill, which is not useful at all.

Hello WOYWW People. I would like to present to you a desk that has a finished item on it! And, more of a shock, its a full sized layout!
Taking a general view, the piece of funky paper on the very left is designated as the backing for the picture of me, and his Royal Highness, Sir Winnie of Pooh. I've cut the edges from a piece of matching blue card (somewhere in the pile underneath) but haven't managed any more. Layout is in the nice clear space of desk in front of the keyboard. I finished the brackets from last week, with the help of some more glossy accents and some little iridescent flower embellishments that I found. Not good for the posture and I have glossy accented fingernails, but the overall effect c'est tres manifique!

No, you don't have to tell me today is Thursday, I know. I have had a butt bustingly busy 2 weeks at work (to the point that I had to drag myself from my bed into the pouring rain on Saturday morning) and I just didn't want to play yesterday. But as a treat (sort of) this pic to the left is my desk as it sat at half past five. Quite clear now, all I have to do is dig my way through 55 e-mails! No bother!
This pic is of my workdesk, lovely and messy as normal. I have a half finished page for my nephew, the craft robo is sat in pride of place and I have the remnants of the packet of Planets that we got at the cinema on Friday. So far I have been able to keep OH from nicking my share, as he wolfed his down in one sitting. For those who saw Monday's post about the wonders of Glossy Accents, the stuff on the craft mat is the work in progress. I'm happy with the letters, and the flowers are to have little pink flowers put in the middle. Its the big brackets that are causing me inspriation issues.
And the other pictures are the finished tag book (hooray!) for those who wanted to see it finished. I haven't put any embellishments on the pages as I just didn't have anything suitable. So when I get to Tesco's tomorrow I am going to grab myself a few proper writing pens and write some little comments by the pictures to make up for it. I'm very very happy about how its turned out, and will be making another one very very soon. I just love the way that the book opens up like a cracker and then folds up so neatly. And for colours that were really only picked at random, they work together so well with the theme and the pictures.
Very excited to give it to its intended this weekend over a Jamie Oliver curry, all to preceed a work planned (well I planned it for work) day at the seaside (weather permitting). I have arranged a Photo scavenger hunt (well, I'm going to do one, that is tonights job!) for the kids and "not so little" kids so we'll see if we can get another minibook out of that. And at the start of September I shall be starting Shimelle's latest class. Maybe I'll even see you there?

Hello to all! Two apologies to make this week. First, sorry to all those who popped on last week to find that I had posted the week before's desk, it wont happen again. And also, so sorry to be repetitive for the third week running with the mini-book, but aside from Thursday I really haven't had any time for any crafting in the last week. This was mainly due to a family wedding and then feeling really rather pants for the last few days. But today all is well, and its amazing the rallying feeling that you can get from WOYWW.
So, onto the desk, which you can see top. Yes its messy, and yes I still haven't finished the mini-book! But at the request of several lovely people, here is the work-in-progress. I thought that I had printed enough pictures and I mounted them all up and stuck them down. But when I put them in the book, it turns out that you really do need 4 pictures per page, so I have had to print off some more. That is the small pile of pics at the front towards the right (by the camera case) And for those that said well done for scrapping and watching tv, well it turns out that I can't. Several times I put tape on the wrong bit whilst getting caught up with watching the Iplayer. This is one mini book where you really do need to pay attention!
The pile of pics at the left side of the keyboard are ones that I need to scrap and have printed so that I don't leave big blank spaces when printing on photo paper. I don't like leaving big white spaces, they annoy me. Hopefully they might make the transition onto a layout this weekend and get posted up Monday. The belt buckle is one that I cut off a very old belt. I am intending to use it as a posh fastener for a cream album I got the other week. But that might not happen for ages yet.
Second pic is of the 12x12 trays that I brought for Mum and I from Storage4Crafts. They are really good, and give the room a slightly more professionally organised look, though nothing that can compete with the rest of the mess.

So, what's on my desk. Well, I have made some progress on the tag mini-book. The pages are all stuck together and the holes are punched. The pictures at the front are those that I have chosen to go in, and are mounted on the cut off card so they all co-ordinate. The white piece of paper nect to them has a few stamped tiggers on them, waiting to be coloured in. The yellow piece of card next to the book has stamped letters, mounted on with tacky glue, waiting to be cut and stuck on the front with the picture next to it.
And all the rest is mess, glorious glorious mess! The white box in front of the monitor is Poirot Series 1 box-set. I find that crafting allows me to catch up on my tv and helps me to find the time to wade through a very large backlog of dvd box sets. And for those that have asked, I do have 2 monitors, mainly because my OH brought himself a very large one and asked if I wanted his old one, which I was allowed as well as the one I already had! It is very handy for digi-crafting as you can have your photo/picture software open on one screen and your folder containing all your bits and pieces on another. Or you can play a dvd. Or whatever. I am, needless to say, a very lucky girl!
Off to hop about your desks now, as well as working on the mini book and cooking tea. And for those who are very lovely and very helpful, I put up a plea for help on yesterday's post. If you get time, please can you put in your 2 peneth worth of advice.

Greetings all WOYWW people. Having been beavering my way across the net, I realised a mass error I had made in my last two offiical posts, in that I had not linked back to the wonderful originator of this crazy and fabulous idea. So if you wish to join in, or just have a look at the other lovely workdesks, make your way over here and have a nosy.
So, not so neat and tidy this week I'm afraid. I'd first like to mention the addition of the shelf on the wall. Not strictly workdesk but it was the first piece of proper DIY done in the new house and my poor OH got a blister for his troubles. I would like to point out though that it is perfectly stable and level so well done him! The large green sheets on the keyboard are the marriage certificates for my great-grandad and great-aunt and I have sucessfully tracked gt gdad on the 1911 census after months of searching! The orange cards are my version of this tag book (yes, I know, its ANOTHER mini book, but I like them!) and its destined to hold pics of last years trip to Eurodisney and will be despatched to my disney partner-in-crime. The yellow 12x12 sheet and the bits on top are the starting of the "Wooden Boat" layout. I was very happy as I managed to print onto some vellum style paper without ripping it or my printer to shreds. So that layout should appear some time at the end of the weekend, as well as a wedding card, a 21st Birthday card and possibly a tarted up family tree.

Tidy desk this week, and I have to admit, slightly tarted up in preparation. Was very encouraged after last weeks first official post and the lovely comments that I received (thank you) and also by the fact that I have spent a larger percentage of my time since then crafting rather than doing random stuff (tho the white paper under the ruler on the far left is the life insurance paperwork that needs to be filled in)
The pictures on the green card are for the first layout of my gorgeously cute nephew. The feature of the layout is that most of the pictures are blurred as he just doesn't keep still for his aunty when she gets out the camera. The pinky bit to the right is the top sheet of a load of calendar pages that I intend to scan to make my "whatever year" wall planner. They were cut from this years vimrod calendar, the top bits are stored ready for scrapbooks. The little blue squares on the mat and the 12x12 cardstock next to it are concertina mini albums in the making. One is for me and one is a birthday present for my stepsister, both will be entitled "Pocket Nephew" and a proper post will come when they are finished. And finally the card in the clip by the left monitor is a Promarker insert which lists all the available pens. I have marked the ones I have and have only to wish and hope that I can get my grubby little mitts on some more!

What a messy desk! I honestly did have it tidy on Sunday night. All the paperwork was filed, the final boxes unpacked and everything clipped nicely up. But on Monday I found out that a friend of mine had got another opportunity to go holiday repping in Greece and was leaving on Friday. So the first thought that popped into my head was "mini-book" Which is the little blue book in the sort of clear space on the desk. I'll post up proper pictures tomorrow but i'm very pleased with it since its only taken me a couple of days, didn't cause me much of a headache to make, and is a nice mix of digital and proper scrapbooking.
And its the first project made in the new craft room! (small fanfare) I am now back to being a scrapbooker and it couldn't have come quickly enough.

Today has been a good day. OH and I both back @ work after The Big Move, keys to the old house have been given back, and we finally have t'internet back, which means that I can post again! Hooray!
So here is my WOYWW picture. Apologies, that again its boxes, but these are boxes that are to be unpacked. So I wont be linking up to the other WOYWW posts this week, but hopefully will have something to share properly next week.
The craft room is coming along. I certainly have the space to play with. Some things are coming along very nicely, some things have yet to find a home. The room is a lovely shade of cream (Ivory from B&Q Colour range if anyone is interested) I have accepted the green carpet and redesigned my scheme so that now I have shades of cream, green and beech wood. When money and time allow, I will finish all the sorting and tidying up and put proper pictures up.
Family tree - The home-made digi kit idea is something that I am still playing with, and I will do a further post tomorrow. However I did have a flash of Weetabix induced inspiration this morning, that the glass pattern on the front door would make a very good background pattern on a page. All I have to do know is work out a way of photographing it so that I can get it into Corel and start to play. For those that are undecided over their photo package choice, I use Corel Paint Shop Photo. I've been playing with free 30 day trials of X2 and X3 and have just purchased X2 Ultimate as my package of choice. But again, more of this tomorrow.

Todays online blog class is about regular features, but for the second time (and quite unknowingly I promise!) I have already started this with a WOYWW thread. So as its late, I thought I would continue. But unfortunately there is nothing on my desk! :-(
After finishing off the baby book last weekend (pics of which I hope will arrive soon by way of flickr photostream) I came to the unfortunate conclusion that I really did need to start packing and the best place for me to start was the craft stuff. So all the bits I had used got tidied away, the clip-it-up got unclipped and the teetering pile of page protectors, chipboard albums and other bits and bobs got put into a box. After that I got a bit bored, so went in search of a cup of tea and matching buscuit and nothing else got packed.
But this week we wrote out the novelty cheque, and many many more boxes have been found and donated so its really time to get it all packed away. I am still refining the ideas for the new room, which might result in some lovely sketches, and I had a fairly large session on Two Peas and downloaded all the free digital kits that took my fancy. So there are still opportunities for crafting.
My desk is bare, which makes for a very depressing WOYWW. So instead, please find a picture of my chipboard bits, ready and waiting for when I am free.

First WOYWW post! As mentioned yesteday I am still working on a baby book for friends of mine who are expecting their first child.
I love making baby books, as you can try and reflect the personality of the parents as well as guessing the personality of the child.
I have made some changes with the layout of this book to the "grandad" one that I made for my step-dad earlier in the year, especially since I watched him try to use the book over the weekend. In my efforts to add lots of inspiration for the photo ideas and detail on the layouts I hadn't left enough room for him to put in good sized pictures. In particular I had left nice big spaces for pictures of my step-sister and me, but not a lot for pictures of Mummy and Daddy! There were also pictures that had been taken which were worthy of being placed in the album but that had nowhere appropriate to go. So definately a rethink
was in order.
So in this album I have tried to leave lots of spaces for pictures and not been so restrictive in the layout themes. As I have seen, there will be tons and tons of pictures, especially now there are so many digital cameras around, and now most phones have a very adequate camera for catching those candid and rare images. The page to the right is one of the first that I did, showing my excitement about being able to colour in peel-offs with permanent brush pens. Mummy to be is a very pink orientated person (to the point that we refer to her as Pinky, though initially that was to deal with duplicate naming issues) and I think that the black here really sets it off. A simple little layout but very effective and leaves lots of room for lovely pictures.
Also having another go with the Robo, now that I have it back up and running again. However I think it is time for a slight overhaul, when funds are available. The letters that I cut today were slightly pulled and torn, and only the clever application of fast tack glue and seed beads has helped me out. But the diversity it gives me proves that it was worth every penny of what I spent!
